v1.1 release and preview
Changes in v1.1:
- MacOS version now available!
- The pause menu now shows details on all the cards. Additionally, tips have been added, and the rules text has been adjusted for clarity.
- There are a few sprite adjustments, and new sprites for every intermediate state (e.g. a different pumpkin sprite each turn).
- For balance reasons, the game will no longer roll Fennel as an alternative to Grass.
- Challenges were rebranded as Scenarios, and the tutorial has a stronger nudge to try them.
- Closed an exploit that allowed actions to interrupt animations.
- Slightly reduced clutter in the resource markers generated during animation.
- Added a quit button.
Here's what the new pause menu looks like:
What's this? New plants? Yes, this is a preview! I'm looking to get this game listed on Steam, and I wanted to *double* the number of plants and tools. The plants in this preview are still subject to change before they're finalized, but they have already gotten a lot of testing.
Beans - A highly efficient plant, but it only lasts 6 turns.
Elderberry - A larger and more water-efficient version of berries. In general, designing new plants requires increasing the complexity, but it's nice to find some simple ideas.
Willow - Resolve a plant twice! But only if you arrange the trees just so.
Tomatoes - Receive a gem whenever you recycle a rock, that's nice. But try building 5 Tomatoes, and now you receive 5 gems for each rock recycled. It also increases your gem cap so you can hold it all.
Potato - Plant a potato, and then recycle it whenever you need a little boost.
Ocotillo - Save more water the more you build. You can even just build a bunch of Ocotillos.
Pepper - A multicolored plant that does something different each turn. You aren't actually netting any power out of this, but you are saving water.
Beehive - You can use this to double the power of each tree, but it might be tough to coordinate a swarm of bees.
When I get a Steam page ready, I'll announce it here. I plan to have a demo which will be basically equivalent to what's on Itch.
